Faceless Kings was a journey that started in October of 2014 and ended in September of 2015. A collaboration between video artist Clay Croft and myself to make an absolutely uninhibited electronic album on location in 3 different states to be the official soundtrack of the Expedition Overland Central American docuseries. Being on location in remote regions of the US I experienced blown amps, blown studio monitors, sleepless nights for weeks on end, complete exhaustion, and the mind numbing frustrations of wrestling with myself to outdo my previous work. At times I found myself on the bathroom floor all night trying to regain control of creative thoughts and ideas run amok. Other nights I sought solitude in the surrounding mountains only to roam the mountain roads through the night following wolf tracks while writing melodies in my head, always unable to sleep.

Upon completion of the album I fell into an exhaustive state, one of which I have only experienced one other time in my life (Surviving the Vans Warped tour for a month in one of the hottest summers in US history). I slept constantly and was completely wiped out after walking just 20 or 30 feet somewhere. When I returned home to Los Angeles I found myself at the doctor working on a plan to regain my strength and get things back to normal in time for upcoming tours.

In all this record is hands down my best and most skilled work. Full of heart, passion, and extreme drive and intensity, I put everything into this, even my health. Nothing was compromised, no shortcuts were taken, what you hear is 100% me and the struggle and process of trying to make something that I could be proud of and that fans would love. I have been trying to make this record since the beginning of my professional career but have been diverted or blocked every time. Finally, after years of struggle and musical growth, I can finally say that I did it. Faceless Kings is a milestone on my path as woodrowgerber and I'm excited for everyone to hear it and share it around the world.
